Abstract

This technote explains what a Network Address Translation (NAT) does at a high level and diagrams how an IBM® Rational® ClearCase® client (not server) should be configured in order to access VOB, view, license, and registry servers behind the NAT router.

This configuration is not tested or certified to work; however, ClearCase clients should work in this configuration.

The key word is "client". ClearCase servers running on the other side of a NAT is not recommended or supported at this time.

If the host on the other side of the NAT is a ClearCase client, then ClearCase operations and RPC calls should work as expected.
