Abstract

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Server for Linux 32-bit x86 minimum requirements and support are listed below. Starting with V6.1, the server is not supported on Linux 32-bit x86. The V6.1 storage agent is still supported on Linux 32-bit x86.

Minimum Requirements for TSM Storage Agent V6.1
Note: TSM V6.1 server is notsupported on Linux 32-bit x86.

Machine
  • An i686 compatible symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) or uniprocessor (UP)

Minimum memory and space requirement to run:
  • RAM - 2 GB (A minimum of 4 GB for production servers)
  • Disk space:
    • 5 MB for the /var directory
    • 4 GB for the /opt directory
    • 190 MB for the /tmp directory
    • 300 MB for the /usr directory
One of the following:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 (starting with TSM Server V6.1.2)
  • Asianux 3.0


TCP/IP, which comes standard with Linux x86

Shared memory protocol		V2.3.3, or later of the GNU C libraries installed on the target machine
Minimum Requirements for TSM Server V5.5 and
TSM Storage Agent V5.5
