Error description

  • EXEC CICS WEB SEND does not sent data to non-HTTP client in
    CICS TS 5.4.
    At 5.2 the non-HTTP data is copied into the response
    buffer that is obtained by DFHWBBLI (httpout).
    In 5.4 the data is left in the 64-bit buffer
    (wrb_send_body_buffer) obtained by the WEB SEND.
    This causes DFHWBBLI to return to DFHWBA with the
    response data length being zero. This causes DFHWBA
    and then DFHWBSR to believe it has nothing to send.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: No data is sent by EXEC CICS WEB SEND *
    *                      for a TCPIPSERVICE defined with         *
    *                      PROTOCOL USER.                          *
    ****************************************************************
    A request is received by CICS on a TCPIPSERVICE that is
    configured as PROTOCOL(USER). The application is correctly run
    and the EXEC CICS WEB SEND executes correctly. However no data
    is sent back to the client. This may present as a hang or a
    timeout in the client.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBBLI has been corrected to send the application data back
    to the client.
