Error description

  • You are attempting to connect to Explorer with the CMCI JVM,
and want to be able to use multiple, differently prefixed HOST
designations, and to use the WUI interface. You expect to set
TCPIPHTTPHOST(YES) in your WUI parms to allow Explorer to use
the host name provided by the client.
    .
Explorer expected the 'hostname' to match the httpEndpoint
'host' specified in the server.xml file used for Liberty.
After installing the PTF for PI92676, which allows prefixing
the httpEndpoint host attribute, you attempted to override the
host name by specifying TCPIPHOSTNAME in WUI parms, but the
    connection is still failing.
    .
    You receive message:
IZE0106E Connect failed with error "Connection refused: connect"
    .
The value that is propogated to the Liberty configuration's
server.xml file is the TCPIPHOSTNAME, when it should be set
    based on the TCPIPADDRESS value.
    .
This is behavior would not be observed in CICS TS 5.5.

Local fix

  • Batch job was used to update WUI parms, changing the host name
    when needed

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When starting up a CMCI Liberty JVM *
    * server in a WUI region, host attribute *
    *                      in server.xml is configured from        *
    * EYUWUI TCPIPHOSTNAME instead of *
    *                      TCPIPADDRESS.                           *
    ****************************************************************
A CMCI Liberty JVM server is starting up in a WUI region, host
attribute in server.xml is configured from EYUWUI TCPIPHOSTNAME
instead of TCPIPADDRESS. This causes the Liberty to only listen
on the IP address associated with that hostname.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed to use TCPIPADDRESS instead of
TCPIPHOSTNAME when configuring the CMCI Liberty JVM server host
    attribute in server.xml.

The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V5.5 Knowledge Center
    has been altered as follows:

In 'Setting up CMCI with CICSPlex SM' in section 'Configuration
parameter mapping between CICSPlex SM WUI server and CMCI JVM
    server' in table 1,
the following entry has been updated:
TCPIPHOSTNAME|name|Not used by the CMCI.|host="*" in the
     (Required) httpEndPoint element

the following entry has been deleted:
TCPIPHOSTNAME|ALL|Allows client connections by|host="*" in the
(Required) using any host name httpEndPoint
                      associated with the LPAR. element
