Error description

  • Abend0C4 in DFHSOCK when SO Level 2 tracing is active. This
    causes a DFHSO0001 message and dump followed by lots of
    DFHSO0002 messages.
    .
    The abend0C4 occurs within the sock_trace_buffer_data refstep.
    This code only executes when SO domain trace level 2 is active.
    .
    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVDWZ

Local fix

  • Do not set SO domain trace level 2

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHSO0001 0C4 abend followed by         *
    *                      multiple DFHSO0002 error messages.      *
    ****************************************************************
    This problem only presents when SO Level 2 tracing is active.
    .
    A codepath exists in DFHSOCK where an SO 0201 trace entry is
    written during CLOSE_SOCKET_IN_POOL processing, this code
    is driven by the TIMER (TI) task. DFHSOCK requires
    an xm_txn_so_token value but this was unavailable from the
    TI task's KERNTASN entry. As a consequence, a null pointer
    was used by DFHSOCK causing the initial 0C4 and subsequent
    DFHSO0002 messages.

    Additional Keywords: MSGDFHSO0002 MSGDFHSO0001

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSOCK has been amended to preclude the aforementioned error.
