Error description

  • We are restarting our CMASes every month and when a CICS region
is connected to CMAS1 before CMAS1 is restarted and if it
connects to CMAS2 after the CMAS1 was restarted then the
message "EYUBN0099I Resource creation processing complete" is
missing in the regions and no BAS resources were created in
    those regions.

When we restart the CICS regions in the old LPAR, the issue gets
    resolved.
    The failure scenario is :
     - Two CMASes: CMAS1 and CMAS2
      - Two MASes: MAS1 connected to CMAS1 on LPAR1
                    MAS2 connected to CMAS2 on LPAR2
    .
    Steps:
    .
      - Bring up the two CMASes and two MASes.
      - Everything is fine, and I can see EYUBN0099I message issued
        for the two MAS regions.
      - Bring down CMAS1 and MAS1
      - Restart CMAS2 while MAS2 remains active
      - Bring up CMAS1
      - Bring up MAS1 to a different LPAR, and connect to CMAS2.
      - We can see EYUBN0099I message is missing, and no resource
        was installed to MAS1.
This problem was caused by the CPSM warm restart of CMAS2,
meaning that all connections to CMAS2 were not closed before it
    was restarted.

During MAS initialization, method EYU0TSSC (TSSC - Topology CICS
System Start Event Method Receiver) is driven on the connecting
CMAS to perform the topology connect process for the MAS region.
This includes automatic resource install if needed and method
EYU0TSCI (TSCI - Topology Autoinstall Resources Method Receiver)
is eventually called for the resource installation.

Before calling TSCI, various status flags of the MAS region are
inspected to determine whether the MAS region is connecting to
this CMAS for the first time. If so, then resource installation
is performed. Otherwise, TSCI will be called with different
options and resource installation will be ignored.

When a MAS region is restarted, and connected to a different
CMAS which had recently performed a CPSM warm restart, this
processing may fail. As a result, no BAS resource definitions
are installed into the MAS region and message EYUBN0099I is not
    issued.

Problem conclusion

  • Method EYU0TSSC has been updated to make sure the BAS resource
    definitions are installed properly.
