PH09260: INCLUDE TASK NUMBER IN DFHAC2236. IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER CICS TAKES A TRANSACTION/SYSTEM DUMP.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a task abends, and a transaction or system dump is taken,
  CICS issues DFHDU0203I message that includes the task number,
  as in the following: EG:
  DFHDU0203I 03/01/2018 18:30:52 CVMGT700 A transaction dump was
  taken for dumpcode: ASRA, Dumpid: 1/0003, Tranid: ASRA, Tranum:
  00000147, Program: PROGNAME.
  DFHAC2236 03/01/2018 18:30:52 CVMGT700 Transaction ASRA abend
  ASRA in program PROGNAME term TC76. Updates to local recoverable
  resources will be backed out.
  

Local fix

• It shows that task# 147 had the problem.  However, if dump
  suppression is on, we just get a DFHDU0207I and DFHAC2236
  messages, neither of which includes the task# that had the
  problem.
  It would be beneficial to be able to know which task suffered
  the abend irrespective of whether or not CICS took a system/
  transaction dump.

  number. Its inclusion may assist diagnosis.

Problem conclusion

• Message DFHAC2236 has been modified and will now include the
  transaction number that caused it to be issued.
  
  The Knowledge Centre will reflect the updated message thus:
  
  DFHAC2236 date time applid Transaction tranid transaction number
            trannum abend secondary_abcode in program program_name
            term termid.  Updates to local recoverable resources
            will be backed out{.EXCI job = } exci_id. condmsg.
  
  Explanation: Transaction tranid transaction number trannum is
  abnormally terminated with abend code abcode in program
  progname. Any changes to recoverable resources in the local
  system that have been performed by the current unit of work are
  backed out.
