Error description
Very late in CICS shutdown processing, CICS issues messages: . DFHAP0001 An abend (code ---/AKEF) has occurred at offset X'0B0C' in module DFHABAB. DFHDS0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'1DA4' in module DFHDSTCB. The dump shows that a CISS task was attached after most CICS domains had quiesced. The CISS task received abends AKEF and AWC9. The KTCB task for the QR TCB then took an 0C4 in DFHDSTCB trying to process a CHANGE_MODE request for the CISS task. . The problem is that a new IPIC capability exchange message was received late in shutdown. However, due to the late stage of shutdown, the monitoring domain has deleted its gates. This causes task initialization to fail when the MN domain is called. Additional Symptom Search Keyword: KIXREVxxx IPCONN S0C4 abend0C4 abendS0C4 abendAKEF UAKEF abendAWC9 termination

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message DFHAP0001 abend code AKEF * * during CICS shutdown when using an * * IPIC TCPIPSERVICE. * **************************************************************** Abend AKEF occurs during CICS shutdown when running a CISS task. A connection request arrives for an IPIC TCPIPSERVICE from an IPIC partner very late in CICS shutdown. During CISS transaction initialization there is a suspend on the SOLOCK. During this suspend, sockets domain closes all sockets and monitoring domain deletes all its domain interface gates. When CISS resumes, it takes an ABEND AWC9 as its socket is no longer valid. The ensuing abend triggers a call to monitoring domain which results in abend AKEF because monitoring functions are now unavailable. This produces severe error message DFHAP0001. Problem conclusion
DFHWBSO has been changed to veto the attach of CISS transactions when CICS is in shutdown. When this happens, the IPIC socket connection will be closed.
