Error description

  • If CICS has to back out a change to a file, say for a UOW that
    has written to a recoverable ESDS, then XFCLDEL can be used
    to make CICS update the record to show it is logically deleted.
    This is achieved by a read update / write update operation
    during backout. CICS is failing to write the read update
    to the replication log as part of the backout.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

    *                 UI62349), or superseding PTF UI64083.        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: During BACKOUT of an update to a VSAM   *
    *                      ESDS the READ UPDATE records are not    *
    *                      written to the REPLICATION LOG.         *
    ****************************************************************
    After applying the fix for PH09381 BACKOUT for a VSAM ESDS no
    longer writes the READ UPDATE records to the REPLICATION LOG.
    

Problem conclusion

  • UI62346 UI62348 UI62345 UI62349 UI64083
    
    DFHFCLJ has been updated to write the READ UPDATE records to
    the replication log for backout of VSAM ESDS.
