Error description

  • You are getting an abend0C4 program check protection
exception in DFHM321$ at offset x'2140'. The failing
    instruction is a:
947F1033 NI TCTTETF3,255-TCTTESMF to turn off send map flag.
The 0C4 occurs if a transaction running under the Link3270
Bridge issues an EXEC CICS RECEIVE INTO request followed
by EXEC CICS RECEIVE MAP FROM . The code in DFHM321$
attempts to use a TCAFCAAA containing zero to address a TCTTE.
This then leads to a program check when attempting to turn off
the TCTTESMF flag in the BMS extension.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: abend0C4 DFHM321$ at offset x'2140'.    *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS region is running with the BMS 3270 Intrusion Detection
Service (IDS) active. A transaction running under the Link3270
Bridge issues an EXEC CICS RECEIVE INTO request followed by an
EXEC CICS RECEIVE MAP FROM request.
DFHM321$ incorrectly attempts BMS IDS checking which is not
applicable when running under the Link3270 Bridge. This leads to
an 0C4 because it assumes there is a TCTTE BMS Extension and
this does not exist in the Bridge environment.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHM321$ is changed to bypass BMS IDS checking for an
EXEC CICS RECEIVE MAP FROM request issued by a transaction
    running under the Link3270 Bridge.
