Error description

  • Reviewing the HOLD data for some service applied, there was
    mention of some CPSM related changes:
    .
    UI65181 ++HOLD(UI65181)
    SYSTEM FMID(HCI7200) REASON(ACTION) DATE(19240)
     COMMENT(
     This
    PTF adds a new field, HEXNAME, to the TSQSHR resource table.

    This increases the size of TSQSHR resource table records by 16

    bytes. After a CMAS has been updated to this PTF level, any

    CICSPlex SM API programs which fetch or map the TSQSHR structure

     may need to be recompiled to allow for this increase before

    reconnecting to that CMAS.
     The TSQSHR structure is mapped by
    copybooks EYUA0100, EYUC0100,
     EYUL0100, EYUP0100.
     ).
     .

    The text above is for the 5.5 HOLD data and PTF UI65179 gave
    the same text for CPSM 5.4 - there was an additional mention of
    needing to restart the ESSS at 5.4. When the 5.5 CMAS was
    recycled, the following message was issued and the CMAS was
    isolated from the plex:
    .
    EYUCP0022E Maintenance point for
    plexname on cmasid1 has a lower capability than cmasid2. CMAS
    cmasid2 will be isolated from the CICSplex.
    .
    A dump was also
    take for this CMAS out of CSLT for the LSRT
    transaction:
    EYUXZ0910I cmasid EYU0XZPT
    Dump,cmasid,cmasid,lpar,CMAS,LSRT,task#,TRAC,EYU0CSLT,date,time.

    .
    When the MP CMAS was later restarted it seemed to have
    connected and synchronized without issue, but the non-MP CMAS
    remained isolated from the plex. To resolve this isolation
    problem the non-MP CMAS would need to be restarted.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The PTFs for APAR PH14288 were *
    *                      shipped with incomplete ++HOLD data.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that solves PH14288, *
    * all regions (including CMAS, WUI and *
    * MAS) must be restarted to pick up the *
    * changes. Note that the restarts do not need *
    * to occur at the same time. However if *
    * systems are not restarted at the same time, *
    * the following rules apply: *
    *                                                            . *
    * - Maintenance Point (MP) CMASes must be *
    * restarted on the updated code before *
    *                   non-MP CMASes.                             *
    *                                                            . *
    * - If you have more than one MP CMAS and any *
    * of those MP CMASes are connected directly *
    * or indirectly, then those MP CMASes *
    * must be restarted at the same time. *
    *                                                            . *
    * - Before a MAS, regardless of whether it is *
    * running as a WUI server, is restarted *
    * with the updated code, the CMAS to which *

    ****************************************************************
    The PTFs for APAR PH14288 were shipped with incomplete
    HOLD data. Information describing the required action
    was included as a Comment in the PTF cover letter, rather
    than as a ++HOLD ACTION item.
    These PTFs must be replaced with new PTFs containing the
    additional ++HOLD ACTION information.

Problem conclusion

  • UI65178 UI65180 UI65179 UI65182
    The affected PTFs have been superseded by new PTFs containing
    the required HOLD ACTION information.
