Error description

  • DFHSM0131 CICS is under stress short on storage below 16MB
    due to an excess of CDSA storage for subpool KESTK24E
    .
    PAM storage blocks that show large numbers
    of ID x'0022' type storage currently active.
    All of them were filled with SEGENTRY type control blocks.
    .
    A SEGENTRY holds Stack Entries for tasks in the KE domain.
    The SEGENTRY Reg14 point into module DFHETRX.
    .
    That module gets stack storage from Below The Line
    because SMODE (Stack Mode) is set to 24
    .
    DFHLFM TYPE=ENTER,
    SMODE=24,
    .
    It gets stack storage of x'02A0' bytes:
    .
    Going to the TASENTRY pointed to by the KE_TASK in the summary
    +x'1C' points to the current stack entry:
    +x'8C' points to the BTL stack entry:
    .
    The last request was for a MONITOR command,
    which DFHETRX processes. So, that matches up.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Module DFHETRX acquires its storage below the line and this is
    not released until task termination. Many EXEC CICS ENTER
    TRACENUM or EXEC CICS MONITOR POINT requests can cause
    msgDFHSM0131 to be produced and CICS to go SOS.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHETRX has been changed so that it acquires its storage from
    above the line.
