Error description

  • You have updated DFHWBUD in DFHCNV to correctly use the correct
clientcp and srvercp, 950 and 937 respectively. However, when
reviewing the data before and after conversion happens, a x'4E'
is being converted into a x'40'. This causes problems later
because x'4EF8' gets converted to x'40F8' and x'40F8' is not
valid DBCS values for the HOST and can not be converted to big5
    format.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An EXEC CICS DOCUMENT CREATE SYMBOLLIST command is issued. The
SYMBOLLIST data is in codepage 937 and any DBCS characters are
correctly inside SO/SI pairs. DFHDHSL passes the symbol list
to DFHWBFM for processing. DFHWBFM handles any unescaping that
may be required. DFHWBFM has incorrectly determined that the
data is in an SBCS codepage so ignores SO and SI and processes
DBCS characters as single bytes. In this case a x'4E' (first
byte of a valid DBCS character) is found and replaced with
x'40'. This corrupts the DBCS character. When the document is
eventually sent to the client it is converted to ASCII (950)
    and incorrect data is displayed.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBFM has been changed to recognize the DBCS data correctly.
