Error description

  • You are setting up a new lpar and moved a group of CICS regions
to this new lpar. With this new lpar your number of CMASes
will increase from 31 to 34. When you attempt to connect the
CMAS on this lpar to the maintenance point CMAS (along with
other CMASes), the region abends and terminates with the
    following message and a dump:
    .
EYUCP0008E xxxxxxx CONNECTION SERVICES LONG-RUNNING TASK
      TERMINATING DUE TO NONRECOVERABLE ERROR
    .
The dump shows the following trace exceptions:
    .
49 CPLT XLOP LPLT COM Excp 59 CPLTEXCP CPSM
49 CPLT XLOP LPLT COM Lv- 1 1024 CMASSHUT CPSM
    .
where a trace point id 59 LRT_NO_ELEM exception is due to the
async elements being exhausted. All of the async elements are
    for a MPSYNC CPSLSyn2 request.
    .
The CMAS obtains a count of 32 async elements. If the EYUQXXFP
ACTION REMOVE to the LONG_ASYNC_LLD queue is empty, a branch to
label LONG_NOELEM will occur and the CMAS will shutdown with a
CMASSHUT debug point id 1024 trace record and dump.

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes must be restarted. Note *
    * that the restarts do not need to occur at *
    *                 the same time.                               *
    ****************************************************************
When a CMAS connects directly or indirectly to another CMAS,
both CMASes perform repository synchronization with each other,
to ensure that if one is a maintenance point (MP) CMAS for a
CICSplex managed by the other, that the non-MP's data repository
records for the CICSplex are up to date.

To perform this processing, method EYU0CPLT (CPLT), running
under long running task LPLT, acquires a work element from a
pool of 32 it allocates at CMAS initialization. If there are
more than 33 CMASes in the network, and a CMAS is connecting
directly or indirectly to all the CMASes at the same time, it is
possible that the pool of 32 elements could be exhausted. If
that occurs, CPLT will fail, resulting in the EYUCP0008E and
EYUXZ0910I messages, and the CMAS termination.

Problem conclusion

  • CPLT has been updated to increase the pool of repository
synchronization processing elements from 32 to 256.
