Error description

  • You just upgraded to CPSM 5.1 and now when you run your
application it no longer works successfully. The program
does a GET on a LOCFILE. IF the return code is good, it
COPYs the reuslt set to a new result set. It then GETs
another LOCFILE and appends it to the same new result set.
The first result set copy works but the second copy attempt
gets a RESPONSE of 1039 (INCOMPATABLE) and REASON of 1353
    (INVALIDOBJ).

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: RESPONSE(1039) and REASON(1353) is      *
    * returned when multiple EXEC CPSM COPY *
    * API commands are issued to append *
    * records to the same result set. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled *
    * to pick up the new code. Note that regions *
    * do not need to be brought down and restarted *
    * at the same time. *
    ****************************************************************
Module EYU0XDY2 (XDY2 - API COPY Command) is called in the CMAS
to perform processing related to result set copy. XDY2 currently
compares the result set properties between the source and the
target. A logic error causes the condition code to be changed
by another instruction between a compare and a following BRANCH
ON CONDITION, which results in an apparent result set mismatch.
    RESPONSE(1039) and REASON(1353) is returned.

Problem conclusion

  • Method EYU0XDY2 has been updated to fix the logic error.
