Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V4R1M0 and V4R2M0 Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A compatibility APAR is required to * * tolerate private program and library * * resources in CTS 5.2. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled * * to pick up the new code. * * * * The restarts need not be performed at the * * same time, however if systems are not * * restarted at the same time, the following * * rules apply: * * * * - Maintenance Point (MP) CMASes must be * * restarted on the updated code before * * non-MP CMASes. * * * * - If you have more than one MP CMAS and any * * of those MP CMASes are connected directly * * or indirectly, then those MP CMASes must * * be restarted at the same time. * * * * - Before a MAS is restarted with the updated * * code, the CMAS to which the MAS connects * * must be running with the updated code. * * * * - Before a CMAS running with the PTF that * * resolves this APAR connects directly or * * indirectly to a CMAS running a higher * * release of CPSM, the higher release CMAS * * must be restarted so that it is running * * with the appropriate PTF from the * * following list: * * * * - CPSM V4R2M0 - the PTF for APAR PI17724 * * - CPSM V5R1M0 - the PTF for APAR PI17725 * * - CPSM V5R2M0 - the PTF for APAR PI18929 * * * * Additionally, all API programs that access * * the CRESLIBR or CRESPRGM resource tables * * should be reassembled or recompiled pointing * * to the libraries updated by the PTF that * * resolves this APAR. * * * * * * * * The PTF that resolves this APAR changes the * * format of the CRESLIBR and CRESPRGM records, * * which are written to the EYUDREP file. To * * ensure that the changed format of the * * records does not clash with the previous * * format of the records, then * * * * after applying the PTF that resolves this * * APAR * * * * or * * * * after backing off the PTF that resolves * * this APAR * * * * and * * * * before restarting a CMAS with the * * libraries updated by applying or backing * * off the PTF * * * * the EYU9XDUT utility must be run against the * * CMAS's EYUDREP, specifying the current * * version as the target version parameter * * (i.e, PARM=('TARGETVER=0410') if the current * * release is CPSM V4R1M0 or * * PARM=('TARGETVER=0420') if the current * * release is CPSM V4R2M0), with STEPLIB * * pointing to the SEYUAUTH library updated by * * applying or backing off the PTF. This will * * insure that all CRESxxxx records will be * * removed from the EYUDREP file. * * * * After the CMAS has been restarted, and it * * connects and joins to MASes, the proper * * versions of the CRESxxxx records will be * * written to the CMAS's EYUDREP. * **************************************************************** CTS 5.2 adds the concept of private programs and libraries. Various updates are required to tolerate this when a CPSM V4R1M0 or V4R2M0 CMAS is connected to a CPSM V5R2M0 CMAS.
Problem conclusion
Updates have beem made to tolerate the private program and library support added to CTS 5.2.
