Error description
This was an attempt to write out a FEPI SET CONNECTION command that passed USERDATA that contained a SOSI character x'0F'. FEPI ignores the DATA in the USERDATA but module DFHMEFO scans each character of the input string for the presence of a Double-Byte Character Strings and if found will issue a reason of INVALID_DBCS_FORMAT. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHME0121 issued because a FEPI SET * * CONNECTION command contains userdata * * with an x'0E' or x'0F' character. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An EXEC CICS FEPI SET CONNECTION command passed USERDATA that contains an unmatched SOSI character. When DFHEIP tries to audit this command with message DFHAP1900, module DFHMEFO scans the input string for the presence of an unmatched Double-Byte Character Set shift character. It finds an x'0F' and this is treated as an indicator of INVALID_DBCS_FORMAT, which results in message DFHME0121. KEYWORDS: msgdfhme0121 me0212 0121 msgdfhap1900 ap1900 1900
Problem conclusion
DFHEIP has been changed to treat EXEC CICS FEPI commands in the same manner as EXEC CICS SET TERMINAL commands, and not issue DFHAP1900 audit messages after they are issued. The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 5.1 System Programming Reference (SC34-2872-00) will be changed as follows. In chapter 1, page 32, under the section "SPI commands that are not audited", the following bullet points will be added after the existing one for SET TERMINAL: "o FEPI SET commands" . The same change will be made to the CICS Transaction Server for z/OS 5.2 System Programming Reference (SC34-7294-00) in the same place.
