Error description

  • If a program (which is started with a Channel) issues:

    EXEC CICS STARTBROWSE CONTAINER PROCESS(PROCESS_NAME)
                                    PROCESSTYPE(PROCESSTYPE)
                                    BROWSETOKEN(BROWSE_TOKEN);

    followed by

    EXEC CICS GETNEXT CONTAINER(CONTAINER_NAME)
                       BROWSETOKEN(BROWSE_TOKEN)
                       RESP(RESP_CODE);

    the GETNEXT returns the containers belonging to the Current
    Channel and not the containers which belong to the BTS process,
    as expected.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A Program which is started with a current CHANNEL receives the
    incorrect containers list when attempting to browse containers
    from a BTS process. DFHEIQBA incorrectly ignores the BTS
    parameters on the STARTBROWSE CONTAINER call because there is a
    current channel. This leads to the CHANNEL containers being
    returned.

Problem conclusion

  • Update DFHEIQBA so that it correctly processes the BTS
    parameters even if there is a current CHANNEL.
