APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A Program builds a DFHTRANSACTION channel, including a number of
containers. Another transaction is then started, passing the
DFHTRANSACTION channel. Where the started transaction is defined
as remote, the starting CICS region accumulates PGCRCB and
PGCSCB subpool entries in the ECDSA.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
EXEC CICS START TRANSID requests have been issued, passing a
DFHTRANSACTION channel. The definition for the started
transaction specifies that it is to be dynamically routed to a
remote CICS system. DFHXTP TRANSFORMER_1 is driven to build the
request to send to the remote system. DFHXTP then calls DFHPGCH
to delete the local copy of the channel. The PGCH DELETE_CHANNEL
call fails with an EXCEPTION response, reason CHANNEL_ATTACHED.
    .
The request is routed successfully, but a failure to FREEMAIN
the DFHTRANSACTION channel storage leads to a build up of
storage in the ECDSA, and can eventually lead to a short on
    storage condition.
The affected subpools are PGCHCB, PGCPCB, PGCRCB and PGCSCB.
    .
    Additional Keywords: SM0133 msgDFHSM0133 PG1701

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPGCH has been updated to allow the shipped channel to be
    deleted.
