APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The problem is that an EXEC CICS ALTER call to attempt to change
    the Erroroption attribute from a value of 'SKIP' to 'IGNORE' has
    no effect, i.e. a CECI command like so for a TDqueue with
    Erroroption(SKIP):
    CECI CSD ALTER TDQ RESID(. . .) GROUP(. . .) ATTRI('DESCR(A1)
             ERROR(IGNORE)')
    (with relevant RESID and GROUP values populated)
    will have no effect on the Erroroption value, i.e. it will
    remain as 'SKIP'.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Attempted changes to ERROROPTION *
    * attribute of a TDQ are ignored. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an attempt is made to change the ERROROPTION attribute of a
    TDQ from SKIP to IGNORE by using the EXEC CICS CSD ALTER
    command, either directly, through CECI or through a batch job,
    the change is not implemented. The command will run with return
    code 0 (zero) but the attribute will not have been changed.
    Trace will also fail to show any problem.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCUCA has been changed to honour the change to the ERROROPTION
    attribute.
