PI20235: DFHDS0001 AN ABEND (CODE 04F/AKEX) HAS OCCURRED AT OFFSET X'0F8E' IN MODULE DFHDSDS3

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You are getting a DFHDS0001 An abend (code 04F/AKEX) has
  occurred at offset  X'0F8E' in module DFHDSDS3.  After you
  get the AKEX abend, CICS is terminated with a KERNDUMP.
  We also learned that the subsys is down at the time of the
  dump, so there are no thread-related control blocks for subsys
  at time of the CICS DFHDS0001 dump.
   We see the TERMINATE failed with '00F30805'x which says the
  CICS-DB2 connection has terminated.

  This is similar, but not the same, as APARs PM54748 and PM79809.

  CICS terminates when the D2 TCB is abended 04F by a DB2
  subsystem while attempting a terminate thread request
  for a protected thread following an unsuccessful DISSOCIATE.
  

Problem conclusion

• The CICS code has been changed to bypass the DISSOCIATE
  TCB after a terminate thread request has failed because
  CICS is no longer connected to DB2.
  

Temporary fix

• FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY
