PI21178: MONITORING FIELD WBCHRIN IN DFHWEBB IS NOT UPDATED FROM TS 32 ONWARDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The monitoring field WBCHRIN is not being updated from CICS TS
  3.2 onwards. At that time some of the WB domain code was
  restructured and this monitoring entry got missed.WBCHRIN field
  needs be reinstated.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Performance data field DFHWEBB 232      *
  *                      WBCHRIN is not updated by CICS and      *
  *                      is always zero.                         *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Modifications to the design of DFHWBAP resulted in DFHWEBB field
  232 (WBCHRIN) not being updated, although fields 231 (WBRCVCT)
  and 235 (WBTOTWCT) are incremented for every WEB RECEIVE that
  is performed by EXEC CICS and internal DFHWBAPM requests.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHWBAP has been changed to update DFHWEBB field 232 (WBCHRIN)
  for every valid EXEC CICS WEB RECEIVE and internal DFHWBAPM
  request.
  
  The number of bytes accumulated is the number sent back to the
  requestor (after any required conversion) in the LENGTH field
  when a buffer is used, or is the number of bytes stored in the
  container when TOCONTAINER is used.
