log4j-based logging is no longer functional. The classes Log4jFactory, Log4JCategoryLog and Log4JLogger not in package org.apache.commons.logging.impl. Also *Exc*: Main method threw exception ERROR THREAD-NAME: Framework Event Dispatcher BUNDLE-SYMBOLICNAME: com.ibm.cics.ca1y MESSAGE: FrameworkEvent ERROR org.osgi.framework.BundleException: The bundle "com.ibm.cics.ca1y_1.6.0 ￭23" could not be resolved. Reason: Missing Constraint: Import- Package: com.sun.mail.smtp; version="0.0.0" when trying to use the mail.jar file shipped by CICS

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users with PTF UI12091 applied. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect versions of mail.jar, * * commons-logging.jar and wsdl4j.jar * * shipped by PM92092. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** CICS TS for zOS is shipped with a version of the Axis2 web services engine to process SOAP messages. Axis2 depends on a number of third-party libraries. PM92092 incorrectly shipped earlier versions of some of these libraries than those supplied with CICS TS when it was originally shipped. This caused two problems: - SupportPac CA1Y requires mail.jar. If the version of mail.jar from the CICS installation is referred to in the OSGI_BUNDLES parameter of a JVM profile, the JVM will not start due to a org.osgi.framework.BundleException. - Axis2 uses commons-logging.jar , an open-source logging framework which is also available to user applications. The earlier version shipped by PM92092 is missing some classes used for interfacing with the log4J framework, so if a log4j handler is configured the following error will occur: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger.
