Error description
After issuing a CEDA (or CEDC , CEDB) EXPAND on a group that contains more that 17 resources (more than will fit on one screen) you press PF1 to get to the help menu. You then exit the help menu and press PF11 to scroll forward through the menu of resources displayed from the EXPAND command. The screen will not scroll forward and you will receive a message indicating that an abend has occurred: DFHAC2206 Transaction CEDA failed with abend ASRA. Updates to local recoverable resources backed out. The log will show that this abend is: DFHAP0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'0000140E' in module DFHAMPEX. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Abend 0C4/AKEA in module DFHAMPEX. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A CEDA EXPAND command with a generic group name is used to display the resource definitions that are contained in multiple groups. DFHEDAD interprets the command and calls DFHAMP which calls DFHAMPEX to browse the CSD and return the appropriate resource definitions. Once enough results to fill a terminal display have been found, the display is built and the parameter list passed to DFHAMP remains so that if the user scrolls to see other results, the browse of the CSD can be resumed. The user then accesses the CEDA help screen, before returning to the results of their CEDA EXPAND command. The user subsequently uses one of the scroll options to see more of the resource definitions present in the groups. DFHEDAD calls DFHAMP again, passing the parameter list from earlier to continue browsing the CSD. However, during the processing to build the help screen, part of the parameter list was overwritten. As a consequence an abend occurs in DFHAMPEX. Keywords: S0C4 abendS0C4 abend0C4
Problem conclusion
DFHESP02 has been modified to ensure that the parameter list passed to DFHAMP is correctly saved and restored, around pauses in browsing the CSD.
