Error description

  • Your CICS region MQ Adapter begins to connect to MQ. Between
the time it identifies itself to MQ and the time it establishes
an exit for itself, MQ begins to shut down.
The request to establish itself is successful, but the request
to establish the exit fails with MQ RC=2162. A DFHMQ0309
    message is issued.
At this point, MQ can not complete its shutdown because CICS is
partially connected. CICS is also unable to disconnect.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS system attempting to connect to a WMQ QMGR successfully
issues an IDENTIFY call to WMQ but, simultaneously, the QMGR
begins to shutdown. This leads to the subsequent ESTABLISH EXIT
call to WMQ failing with MQRC=2162 (Queue Manager Stopping).
However, because of the successful IDENTIFY, the QMGR will not
complete its shutdown until either the CICS region terminates
or the QMGR is FORCE stopped.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQCON has been amended so that, if an ESTABLISH EXIT call to
WMQ fails with MQRC=2162 (Queue Manager Stopping), the previous
IDENTIFY to MQM call is terminated and re-tried.
