Error description

  • Your CICS region issues the following messages:
    .
DFHSR0622 An attempt to overwrite the ECDSA has caused the
     abend which follows
DFHSR0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at
     offset X'00002BD4' in program DFHEPC.
    .
Following an abend in a remote program, an XPCTA exit program
sets a RESUME address requesting that execution branch to that
address in USER key. DFHEPC tries to do a DFHDSAT CHANGE_MODE
but the current automatic storage for this module is in CICS
    key so the 0C4 occurs.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
User program PROG1 links to a remote program PROG2 which returns
an abend. After DFHEPC creates the abend record it invokes exit
XPCTA and XPCTA returns a retry address, and requests a
switch to user key. Control returns back to DFHEPC.
DFHEPC switches to user key, and then issues a CHANGE_MODE to
ensure it is on the right TCB. This attempts to update CICS
key storage while executing in user key, and so a
    protection exception (0C4) occurs.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEPC has been changed to do change mode before switch
    execution key to user key.
