Error description

  • A SQLCOMMAND policyis deployed in CICS to define a threshold
for the number of DB2 SQL requests performed by a user task, and
take automatic action if the threshold is exceeded.
An application issues an IFI command and it increments the
    policy SQL counter incorrectly.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: SQLCOMMAND policy counter is *
    * incremented for an IFI request. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An SQLCOMMAND policy is defined to monitor the SQL requests
issued by a task. A DB2 IFI request is sent in from an
application. DFHD2EX1 is called to handle this request.
DFHD2EX1 does not differentiate between an IFI request and an
SQL request, so for either type of request the MP domain is
called to increment the SQLCOMMAND count.
This can lead to a policy misfiring, an AMPB abend and a
    DFHMP3001 message being issued.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHD2EX1 has been changed to NOT increment SQLCOMMAND policy
count in case of an IFI request.
