Error description
You are running CICS/TS R5.1 and send a map containing DBCS characters to the browser. This will result in a 'load in progress' condition, even though the map has finished transmitting to the browser. When you look at the data being sent out, you see that the data length is reduced by 2 bytes due to the removal of SOSI characters. Additional Symptom(s): none Search Keyword(s): KIXREVRER

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A BMS map containing SOSI characters * * does not load onto browser correctly. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A BMS map containing DBCS characters wrapped with SO/SI characters (shift out / shift in) does not load correctly on a browser when accessed by the CICS 3270 Web Bridge. This problem only occurs when using terminal emulation module DFHWBTTA. If DFHWBTTB or DFHWBTTC are used then the problem does not occur. The problem occurs because DFHWBTTA generates the Content-length header before the HTTP body is translated from EBCDIC to ASCII. When the HTTP body includes EBCDIC SO/SI characters, these get removed when the body is translated to ASCII. When the HTTP response is sent to the client, the Content-length header is incorrect and the client waits for data which will never be sent. ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS : SOSI
Problem conclusion
DFHWBTTA has been changed so that it no longer generates a Content-length header. Instead, DFHWBA will generate the Content-length header after the HTTP body has been translated to ASCII.
