Error description
When installing a PIPELINE essentially over the top of itself there is no need to delete the directories because they will immediately be recreated. The only deletion necessary is of the PIPELINE configuration file. This apar is to prevent the unnecessary delete and DFHDH0002 message and dump in the case of installing a PIPELINE. This APAR could also add extra trace information to the exception trace entry to show the path that had failed. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGDFHDH0002 when CICS tries to delete * * PIPELINE SHELF directory. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Message DFHDH0002 severe error (code X'0E10') has occurred in module DFHDHFS when installing a PIPELINE during a CICS restart. The PIPELINE in question was installed on a previous CICS run. During the previous install, the PIPELINE's z/FS SHELF directory was populated with the PIPELINE's CONFIGFILE. During the PIPELINE install which happens on the CICS restart, the old CONFIGFILE is deleted from the SHELF directory. The delete also attempts to remove the entire SHELF directory for the CICS system. This attempt to delete the shelf fails because a filesystem has been mounted against the shelf directory. A similar error can occur when discarding an installed PIPELINE. It can also occur when discarding an explicitly defined WEBSERVICE. Discarding a WEBSERVICE which was created by a PIPELINE scan cannot cause this problem. Additional keywords : 0E10 DH0002
Problem conclusion
DFHPIPL has been changed so that there is no attempt to delete a SHELF directory when deleting a CONFIGFILE from the shelf. This applies to both the PIPELINE install and the PIPELINE discard process. . DFHPIWR has been changed so that there is no attempt to delete a SHELF directory when deleting a WSBIND from the shelf. This applies to the WEBSERVICE discard process.
