Error description

  • Customer defines a CPSM WLM transaction group (TRANGRP) with
    Affinity relationship: Luname
     Affinity lifetime : Logon
When he starts a transaction defined in this transaction group,
the affinty is created and he expects that the affinity will be
deleted at terminal logoff time, but this does not appear.
    The affinity still persists.

UI19749 was written to address a problem with transaction
classification when LUNAME is specified as the transaction group
primary search criterion. Prior to this PTF, if the WLMDEF
Terminal LU name pattern included a fully qualified LU name,
"node.luname", CPSM WLM would not match correctly, since CPSM
did not include the node for the terminal user in the luname, it
just used ".luname". With the PTF, the fully qualified luname
is used. The use of the fully qualified luname name resolved
    the problem with transaction classification.

Affinity processing was not properly considered when UI19749 was
written. When the transaction group specifies an affinity
relationship of "LUNAME" and an affinity lifetime of "LOGON",
the luname is used to build the key for the affinity when it is
created. This key is used both during route selection to see if
the terminal already has an existing affinity, and at logoff
time to determine if there are affinities for the terminal that
should be deleted. While the change to use the fully qualified
luname works correctly at route selection time, it does not work
correctly at logoff time, as the luname used at logoff time is
not the fully qualified version, just the luname. As a result,
when the terminal is logged off, the affinity is not deleted.

Problem conclusion

  • Method EYU0WDIN (WDIN) has been updated to continue to use the
fully qualified luname ("node.luname") for transaction
classification, and to use the non-fully qualified luname
    ("luname") for affinity processing.
