    ****************************************************************
When connecting to a CICS logstream, the MVS Logger returned
retcode 4, rsncode 407x, indicating a possible loss of data on
the logstream. DFHL2HS2 reports connection errors and warnings
with message DFHLG0772. This returns information about the
logstream, such as if it is a coupling facility or DASD log,
and the associated structure name (if a CF logstream). Since
the log stream attributes are only set up after the connect
operation (and diagnostics) have completed, log stream data
has yet to be set up at this point. This means the DFHLG0772
reports that a DASDONLY logstream was in fact a CF one. This
is misleading and hinders further problem determination.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHL2HS2 has been changed to query the log stream attributes and
set up the log stream information before issuing DFHLG0772 after
    a connection problem has occurred.
