    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHCSDUP COPY with generic GROUP value *
    * copies resources to incorrect target *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The DFHCSDUP COPY command is used to copy resources from one
group to another. A generic group name is used in the GROUP
field (from group), which specifies a suffix. The TO group name
    is not generic.
    COPY GROUP(SOURCE*0) TO(TRGETGRP)
    .
Source groups matching the generic GROUP filter are found
correctly, but the suffix specified on the from GROUP field
is incorrectly applied to the target group name.
Resources are copied to the wrong group.
    .
    DFH5258 I COPYING GROUP SOURCE00 TO TRGETGR0
    DFH5143 I GROUP TRGETGR0 CREATED.
DFH5252 I PROGRAM xxxxxxxx COPIED TO GROUP TRGETGR0
DFH5101 I COPY COMMAND EXECUTED SUCCESSFULLY.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCUCOG has been updated so that a suffix is applied to the TO
group only if the TO group was generic.
