APAR status

Error description

  • CICS MQ-bridge to use 3270 transactions over MQ (transactions
CKBR  and CKBP). The size of message returned from CICS  is
limited to length of 32k. If CICS program is performing several
EXEC CICS SEND or single large size SEND, the MQ-bridge will cut
the message extension over 32k and will send to client only the
first 32k message size.

The MQ Link3270 Bridge handler program DFHMQBP0 does not check
for remaining data after the first call to DFHL3270 for a
transaction.  This means that if the transaction returns more
than 32K output vectors, those over 32K are lost.

Problem conclusion

  • Module DFHMQBP0 has been changed to check for remaining data and
retrieve all available output vectors from the Link3270 target
transaction, returning them all in a single MQ reply message.
