Error description

  • You are receiving msgDFHSO0002 Severe Error code x'080C' which
    is issued due to the SOSE_GSK_RETURN_CODE and it has a value
    of x'FFFFF3E4'. This equates to a value of -3100.

    We consulted the SSL support group and they do not have a
    RETURN_CODE of -3100.

    DFHSOSE has no specific processing to handle this return code
    so message DFHSO0002 is produced with an SO0002 system dump.

    GSK_UNKNOWN_RETURN_CODE is a result of client action, so the
    DFHSO0002 message and dump are unnecessary. This error
    should be reported by an exception trace entry similar to
    other client based errors.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHSO0002 A SEVERE ERROR (CODE X'080C') *
    * HAS OCCURRED IN DFHSOSE *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When using SSL with IBM or CSI TCP/IP, it is possible to receive
    one or more DFHSO0002 messages specifying severe error (code
    X'080C') and SO0002 abend dumps.

    When a -3100 (X'FFFFF3E4') return code is received in a
    secure_soc_init request, CICS treats the value as a
    disaster and produces the DFHSO0002 message and an SO0002 dump.

    This error will also be seen as an SO 080C exception trace
    entry in the internal trace table.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSOSE has been changed to treat -3100 as an exception and will
    not produce a DFHSO0002 message and SO0002 dump.

    An SO 080C exception trace entry will still be produced.
