Error description
CICS TS 4.2 When formatting a CICS auxillary trace dataset which contains trace points RZ 0145 and RZ 0146 ( CICS RZ domain) an overlength trace data exception occurs as following : TR 0101 TRPT *EXC* OVERLENGTH-ENTRY : CALLING DOMAIN WAS RZ : PARAMETER LIST WAS FUNCTION(TRACE_PUT) POINT_ID(145) DATA1(1E4857D8 , 00000040) DATA2(1EC8AF50 , 1EC8AF50) . Data 2 , parm2 has the length 1EC8AF50 which is too long . DFHRZTCX is being called by DFHMRXM with function init_xm_client passing dfhxmac_arg. . DFHMRXM has passed a bad length of DATA2 to DFHRZTCX. When the data is formatted offline the overlength exception occurs. Trace points RZ 0145 Entry and RZ 0146 Exit are not produced, only the overlength exception trace TR 0101 TRPT *EXC* OVERLENGTH-ENTRY appears. .

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: TR 0101 TRPT *EXC* - OVERLENGTH-ENTRY * * on a call to DFHRZTCX from DFHMRXM * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DFHMRXM getmains an rztx block before calling the RZ domain during MRXM INIT processing. The request stream block is held in Register 9. There is code within the generated assembler routine which modifies R9 to contain the address of the rztx after it is getmained. When the DFHXMAC plist is set up to call the RZ domain, the length of the rztx is passed as data item 2 on the call. The compiler uses the value in R9 when setting the length as it is unaware that the generated code modified the value in the register. When DFHRZTC is called, the entry trace call fails with TR 0101 TRPT *EXC* - OVERLENGTH-ENTRY as the length value is invalid. KEYWORDS: RZ1485 1485 MRXM
Problem conclusion
DFHMRXM has been changed to correctly decorate the generate statement and associated label with the appropriate REFS, SETS and FLOWS compiler directives.
