Error description

  • You are using the CICS Explorer or z/OS Explorer with CICS
plug-in are and attempting to DISCARD a cloud-related object,
but it is failing with error message CNX0592E.
    .
If you look in the CMAS's EYULOG, you may see a message similar
    to the following:
    .
EYUBI0102E BAS initialization for CICSplex <plexname>
               has failed.
    .
Once BAS initialization fails, it is then possible for CPSM
method EYU0BPMS to return a null plex descriptor e-pointer to
its calling method. Discarding a cloud-related object at this
point is not possible without encountering the error.

EYU0TSXR (TSXR) is the CPSM Topology method that furnishes BAS
callers with the address of the BAS CICSplex Descriptor block.
Following each call to TSXR, the caller should check the call
RESPONSE and STATUS code from TSXR, and then verify that the
    returned address is non-zero.

If all three checks are not performed by the caller of
TSXR, then the caller may proceed to use (what it thinks is)
the returned CICSplex Descriptor address, but will in fact
    be pointing to uninitialized storage.

Problem conclusion

  • Four BAS modules were found to have insufficient address
checking following a call to TSXR, and have been modified:

EYU0BPMG - BAS Frontend Management Part Get Method
    - Updated to verify that the TSXR STATUS code
is OK (in addition to the RESPONSE code).

EYU0BPMR - BAS Management Part Remove method
    - Updated to verify that the TSXR STATUS code
is OK (in addition to the RESPONSE code).

EYU0BPMS - BAS Management Part Disable Method
    - Updated to ensure that the returned BAS CICSplex Descriptor
      address is non-zero.

EYU0BMDC - BAS Management EdefChg process method
    - Updated to verify that the TSXR STATUS code
is OK (in addition to the RESPONSE code).
