Error description
Receiving an AEXZ and DFHLD0002 abend attempting to issue a CEMT SET NEWCOPY against a program. Initially the program was successfully loaded from a dynamic library. A RELEASE was performed on the program and a DISCARD was issued against the library. Then a NEWCOPY was issued for this same program hoping it would be loaded from another copy of this program from a library in the DFHRPL. This fails. . The problem is that the APE for the program still has a pointer to the old PLIBE control block in APE_PLIBE_PTR. When the NEWCOPY is performed, CICS attempts to remove the old LDAD directory entry. In order to build the key to the make the directory manager call, CICS attempts to load the dataset name from the PLIBE control block, but that storage has since been reused. The directory name is therefore built incorreclty and as a result the AEXZ and DFHLD0002 occurs. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVDAM ABENDAEXZ MSGDFHLD0002

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Attempt to NEWCOPY program results in * * LD0002 code x'193B' and abendAEXZ. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Program PROG1 is loaded into CICS from a Dynamic Library. The library is later discarded. A NEWCOPY request is issued for PROG1, which has been rebuilt into a data set in another library (e.g. DFHRPL). The NEWCOPY results in +DFHLD0002 IYCKZCDI A severe error (code X'193B') has occurred in module DFHLDLD1. The transaction performing the NEWCOPY will abend AEXZ. . The reason for the failure is that CICS is attempting to remove the old APE from the APE directory (LDAD), but builds the key incorrectly because the ape_plibe_ptr is invalid. This causes a failure during DFHDDDI DELETE_ENTRY.
