Error description

  • DFHSM0002 CQDAWR02 A severe error (code X'0316') has occurred in
DFHSMGF causing entire CICS/Plex regions to stall.

DFHEJOB performed the GETMAIN for OB_DATAB, and stored the
resulting address in "buffer_ptr". The compiler has held this
in register 11, but the value was not stored in the kernel stack
storage. DFHEJOB then makes the remote file request for file
DFHPIDIR. This has been purged, and control has returned to
the DFHEJOB recovery routine (EJOBREC). The code here attempts
to release the OB_DATAB, but R11 no longer addresses the
    storage and is not reestablished.

In the reporting customer's case, CICS was running as a web
service provider with WS-AT enabled, and the WS-AT directory
data set, DFHPIDIR, defined as remote. During processing,
an attempt was made to modify DFHPIDIR via DFHEJOB.
DFHEJOB performed a GETMAIN with remark OB_DATAB and stored
    the resulting address in buffer_ptr.
DFHEJOB then made a remote file request for DFHPIDIR,
however this request was purged as a session could not be
allocated on the remote system. This caused an AAL8 abend.
DFHEJOB's recovery routine was driven, which attempted to
FREEMAIN the storage obtained previously. However,
addressability to buffer_ptr was not reestablished causing
the FREEMAIN request to be made with an invalid address.
This caused a SM0002 abend with code X'0316'.
