Error description
You apply PTF UI35263 for CPSM 5.2 APAR PI46866 to your system. After applying the fix, if CPSM needs to produce a diagnostic SVC dump, it does not include the MAS dataspaces. There is no functional or operational problem created by the above PTF. However, diagnostic dumps taken after it is applied may be missing information needed to diagnose a future problem. . Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM V5R2M0 Users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After applying PTF UI35263 for APAR * * PI46866, dumps requested by CPSM may be * * incomplete. * * * * While this will cause no runtime * * problems, it can affect IBM service's * * ability to perform problem * * determination and resolution related to * * problems for which the dumps were * * taken. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves APAR * * PI67072, the CPSM ESSS (Environment Services * * System Services) subsystem address space * * (EYUX520) must be terminated on every MVS * * image where a CMAS has executed since the * * last IPL. * * * * This can be accomplished in either of two * * ways: * * * * 1 - Ensure that module EYU9X520 in the * * linklist concatenation is replaced by * * the updated version from SEYULINK. * * * * - IPL the MVS Image. * * * * Or: * * * * 2 - Stop all CMASes, MASes (including WUI * * servers) and CPSM batch API programs * * on an MVS image. * * * * - Use EYU9XENF to check that no address * * spaces are connected to the ESSS * * subsystem. * * * * - Use the EYU9XEUT TERMINATE function to * * stop the ESSS. * * * * - Ensure that module EYU9X520 in the * * linklist concatenation is replaced by * * the updated version from SEYULINK. * * * * - Refresh LLA to ensure the updated * * versions of the linklist modules are * * picked up. * * * * Restart any CMASes, MASes (including WUI * * servers) and CPSM batch API programs which * * execute on the MVS image, insuring that the * * updated libraries are being picked up. When * * the first CMAS is started the EYUX520 * * address space will be started automatically. * * * * For details on EYU9XENF and the EYU9XEUT * * TERMINATE function refer to "CICS * * Transaction Server for z/OS CICSPlex SM * * Problem Determination Version 5 Release 2" * * (GC34-7313). * * * * Note that each MVS image can be updated * * separately, and systems on an MVS image that * * are using the new code can communicate with * * systems on other MVS images that are not yet * * using the new code. * **************************************************************** When a CPSM dump is requested by the following: - module EYU9XLRV (XLRV) when an abend occurs (message EYUXL0910I), - method EYU0XZPT (XZPT) when a CPSM trace is issued that specifies an OPTION of ESDMP (message EYUXZ0910I), - method EYU0XZSD (XZSD) when requested by other CPSM programs or through the CPSMDUMP action of the CMAS or MAS resource tables (message EYUXZ0910I), XLRV, XZPT or XZSD issue INFODS CPSM PC routine calls to retrieve data space information for the data cache(es) that should be included in the dump. To do this, they pass the address of an area to hold the information on the PC call. INFODS builds the information in an internal work area, and then copies it to the caller's area. An error introduced by PTF UI35263 causes the area to be truncated when copied into the caller's area. This can result in data space storage being missing from the dump.
Problem conclusion
Copybook EYU2XEDM, which contains the INFODS PC routine code, and copybook EYURXEWK, which maps an internal work area for CPSM PC routines, have been updated to ensure that the INFODS PC routine does not truncate the data space information when copying it into the area provided by the caller of the PC routine.
