• This APAR adds new function to the CICS Web Services
  infrastructure. Mapping Level 4.1 is added to the Web Services
  Assistants, XML Assistants, and JSON Assistants. This new
  mapping level implements improved mappings for simple arrays
  generated bottom-up from existing copybooks; it also adds the
  ability for CICS to auto-detect uninitialised trailing storage
  in arrays, and to omit those records from the generated XML/JSON
  form. See the Knowledge Center for further details of the new
  TRUNCATE-NULL-ARRAYS and TRUNCATE-NULL-ARRAY-VALUES options.
  
  In addition, at CICS TS V5.3 only, this APAR improves the
  non-JAVA JSON technology to correct several problems involving
  the processing of arrays.
  At CICS TS V5.2 only, this APAR includes a change to the way
  JSON arrays are generated.  Previously when a language structure
  that corresponds to a JSON array was converted to JSON, the JSON
  array may not have been output if the language structure was
  empty.  As a result of this change JSON produced by CICS may now
  contain empty JSON arrays that were not present previously.
