PI71684: RECEIVING DFHSM0133 DUE TO STORAGE CREEP IN WBGENRAL STORAGE

Error description

• Executing over 100,000 Web Tasks a day, notice a continuous
  steady creep in WBGENRAL storage occupying over 250M of the
  ECDSA storage.  WBGENRAL storage is made up of various types of
  Web related storage.  In the CICS Internal Trace we see the
  following request for one of these pieces of storage NAMESTRU.

  The Task ends but this piece of storage is never Freemained.
  The NAMESTRU storage is not being freed when it was created as
  part of a WEB READ QUERYPARM or WEB STARTBROWSE QUERYPARM
  command.  The storage area is correctly freed if it was created
  as part of a WEB READ FORMFIELD or WEB STARTBROWSE FORMFIELD
  command.

  is only required if name/value pair information is
  required from the querystring on a PUT or POST request.

  CICS receives an HTTP request with a query string.
  An application issues an EXEC CICS WEB STARTBROWSE QUERYPARM or
  an EXEC CICS WEB READ QUERYPARM request.
  CICS issues a DFHSMGFM GETMAIN, with REMARK(NAMESTRU), for
  storage from the WBGENRAL subpool in the ECDSA.
  When the application completes there is no FREEMAIN for this
  storage. This storage creep can eventually result in CICS
  being short on storage and issuing message DFHSM0133.

Problem conclusion

• CICS is changed to free the NAMESTRU storage associated with
  processing EXEC CICS WEB STARTBROWSE QUERYPARM and EXEC CICS
  WEB READ QUERYPARM requests.
