Error description

  • The purpose of this APAR is to ensure that VERIFY or SIGNON
commands with BLANK or NULL passwords give a response consistent
with other CICS releases, which should either indicate the
supplied password is invalid or that a password is required.

Ensure that VERIFY commands or SIGNON commands with BLANK or
NULL passwords give a meaningful response.
This would either indicate the supplied password is invalid,
or that a password is required.

Problem conclusion

  • For a signon request when no password is supplied
the module DFHXSPW is changed to give an exception response
with reason 'password required'.

Temporary fix
