Error description

  • MQ task using 3270 Bridge hangs in DFHPTTW DFHPTTW suspend, and
eventually gets purged (AEXY). A dump taken while the MQ task
is hung shows that its partner task was a CKBP task. However,
CICS trace shows that the CKBP task ended normally leaving its
partner suspended. The hung MQ task appears to be expecting
    more data.
    .
This problem occurs after application of APAR PI36660 (PTF
    UI31400 ).

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WebSphere MQ 3270 Bridge task hangs in *
    *                      DFHPTTW wait.                           *
    ****************************************************************
The CICS-MQ bridge transaction (CKBR) attaches the Bridge
ProgramLink transaction (CKBP) which starts a user transaction.
The user transaction is conversational so suspends in a DFHPTTW
wait for the next message. CKBP retrieves the next message but
rather than resuming the suspended task, attempts to start a
new transaction. This fails with exception TXN_RUNNING causing
CKBP to terminate. The user transaction remains suspended.

Problem conclusion

  • UI31447 UI31448

DFHMQBP0 has been modified so that CKBP correctly resumes the
    suspended task.
