Error description

  • With the upcoming GA release of CICS
Transaction Server for z/OS Version 5
Release 4, a compatibility APAR is
    required for pre-V5R4M0 CPSM regions
    before they start communicating with
    V5R4M0 CPSM regions.

Updates made in CTS V5R4M0 change most CPSM tasks in a MAS
running with both CICS and CPSM at the CTS V5R4M0 level,
including all long running MAS tasks, from user to system tasks.
As such, it is possible for a CPSM target region running both
CICS and CPSM at the CTS V5R4M0 level, to have a task load of
zero (0). Updates are required for pre-CTS V5R4M0 CPSM regions
    to accommodate this:

    - MAS method EYU0WNAL (WNAL), which runs in a CPSM WLM routing
region during route selection processing, must be updated to
correct a situation where a task load of zero (0) for a
target region could result in an affinity not being created.

    - CMAS methods EYU0WABA (WABA) and EYU0WABB (WABB), which run
in a CMAS to create WLMAWAOR (WABA) and WLMATARG (WABB)
resource table records when requested through the CPSM API,
WUI or Explorer, must be updated to correct a situation where
a task load of zero (0) for a target region could result in
       the ROUTEWGHT attribute being incorrect.

Additionally, another update is required to the CPSM V4R1M0
versions of WABA and WABB to ensure that the ROUTEWGNT
attribute calculation is the same as post V4R1M0 versions of
       CPSM.

Problem conclusion

  • Updates have been made to WNAL, WABA and WABB to allow for
target regions with a task load of zero (0), and the V4R1M0
versions of WABA and WABB have been updated to calculate the
ROUTEWGHT attribute the same as post V4R1M0 versions of CPSM.
