Error description

  • Storage for subpool PGCSDB in GCDSA (above the bar) is
accummulating for some events defined as transactional. If the
transaction commits backwards, the event is not emitted for
that task and the channel and container storage is not being
freed correctly. Over time, this leads to a large build up of
channel and container storage in the PGCSDB subpool.
    .
If the transaction commits forwards, the event is emitted and
the container is deleted as expected.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Storage leak of above the bar storage *
    * when transactional events are used. *
    ****************************************************************
A CICS region is experiencing storage leak in the PGCSDB
subpool. CICS is using transactional events but these are never
transmitted for tasks which commit backwards. As a result
channel storage associated with the event is not freed,
leading to storage creep in the PGCSDB subpool.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEPEV has been changed so that channel storage associated
with transactional events which are never transmitted is always
    freed.
