Error description

  • You are receiving the following message,
DFHLD0001 An abend (code 0C4/AKEX) has occurred
at offset X'FFFF' in module DFHLDLD1.
    .
The LD0001 dump is caused by an 0C4 in z/OS code during
a BLDL. You can see that the abending task owns the
shared LD_LCLOK and there is no code to cause that lock to
    be unlocked.
    .
Later, a console dump of that same CICS Region shows lots
of tasks hung because there are 3 mysterious shared owners
    of the LD_LCLOK lock.
    .
This looks just like PI59710 but with a different lock.

A task which has obtained and owns the shared PLIBE chain lock
from DFHLDLD1 abends, driving the DFHLDLD1 recovery routine.
Since this routine fails to release the shared lock, the next
task which requires the lock exclusively (which it cannot have
until all shared locks have been relinquished) will not be able
to obtain it and will hang indefinitely.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHLDLD1 has been changed so that the shared PLIBE chain lock is
released, if appropriate, in its recovery routine.
