PI88941: NO INDICATION FOR XML-AWARE OUTBOUND WEB SERVICE REQUEST TIME-OUT

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When using a web aware outbound web service requester by
  linking to DFHPIRT, if the request times out, there is no
  indication(abend or SOAP fault) of the time-out given to the
  application program.
  DFHPIRT should be returning a soap fault for this error but its
  not currently doing this.
  Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): DFHPIRT, soap fault,

Local fix

• Customer can try to use EXEC CICS INVOKE SERVICE instead of
  using DFHPIRT
  

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Web Service Requester application not   *
  *                      passed time out error code.             *
  ****************************************************************
  When a Web Service Requester application is using the linkable
  program DFHPIRT, should a time out occur then this error code
  is not being returned to the Web Service Requester application
  in the DFHERROR container.
  

Problem conclusion

• The Pipeline domain modules have been changed to return the
  error code for a time out in the DFHERROR container.
  
  The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS at V5.1, V5.2, V5.3 and
  V5.4 has been updated in Configuring > Creating the web services
  infrastructure > Containers used in the pipeline > Control
  containers > DFHERROR container in Table 2. Values for the
  PIISNEB-ERROR-TYPE field in the DFHERROR container section.
  
  A new error type of 12 - "Request has timed out" has been added
  to table 2.
