Error description

  • You are running CPSM v530 and your CMAS began receiving
DFHAP0001 messages indicating an 0C4 abend occurred at
    x'FFFFFFFF' in EYU9XLOP:
    .
DFHAP0001 applid An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at
     offset X'FFFFFFFF' in module EYU9XLOP.

    .
along with the EYUXL0905E messages show the real abend that was
occurring was an ASRA abend 0C4 in XDF1:

The abend 0C4 occurred in EYU0XDF1 (base530) at offset x'A7C'.
The psw is pointing to an MVC instruction: D203 D4EC E000 in
routine XDF1_EXIT within the EYUQXMSM CLEAR macro. It seems
that access register 14 (AR14) was not cleared correctly as it
    still contained an ALET address.

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes must be restarted. Note *
    * that the restarts do not need to be occur *

    ****************************************************************
When a CPSM API program performs an EXEC CPSM CONNECT command,
it acquires an API processing thread which identifies its
connection to the CMAS and there are 8192 API processing
threads available on the system. Once the pool of available
API processing threads has been exhausted, further attempts to
perform an EXEC CPSM CONNECT should result in a RESPONSE of
ENVIRONERROR and a REASON of SOCRESOURCE.
During the error handling routine in module EYU0XDF1, the
access register which had been used to point to the ALET of
the free thread queue, had not been cleared resulting in an
0C4 ABEND upon EYU0XDF1's exit routine. Additionally, during
the exit routine's processing the API RESPONSE and REASON codes
would be overridden with a response of FAILED and a reason of
    EXCEPTION.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0XDF1 has been modified to clear access register 14
on entry to the error routine which handles the failure to
    acquire a new API thread.
The code in the module's exit routine which had erroneously
overridden the API RESPONSE and REASON codes has been
modified such that the correct API RESPONSE and REASON code
are returned to the CPSM API program.
