Error description

  • You look at the internal trace table for a CMAS or its AUX
trace datasets, and you find many entries that look like this
    in the abbreviated trace:
    .
TASK MTD PREV TRAN OBJ LEVL PT-ID DEBUG UOW CMAS/USR ENVR
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
    .
The expanded trace entries which format the MAL show the call
to method NEP2 was for function EXTRACT. This may occur for
various keyword queries against the CPSM SYSPARM table, which
contains CPSM SIT parameters for the MASes in the CICSPlex.
This query can come from the WUI, the CICS Explorer, or a
    user-written CPSM API program.
    .
The exception trace entries do not indicate an error, and
should not be written. If too many of these are written, it
could negatively impact diagnostic data collection by filling
up the trace table and AUX trace datasets.

CPSM maintains a list of SIT parameters. When using CPSM
function to query the SYSPARM table, the parameters in this list
are used. However, some parameters are removed in the new
version, and the CPSM parameter list should be updated
accordingly, otherwise CICS will return exception and NODATA
    returned.

The exception trace will be similar to either of the following:
TASK MTD PREV TRAN OBJ LEVL PT-ID DEBUG UOW CMAS/USR ENVR
12345 NEP1 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS
12345 NEP2 NQRG CONA MAS EXCP 4 NODATA API <userid> LMAS

All affected SIT parameters are listed below, and some of them
may not be applicable for certain releases:
      - EUDSASZE
      - JVMCCSIZE
      - JVMCCSTART
      - MAXOPENTCBS
      - MAXXPTCBS
      - HTTPSERVERHDR
      - HTTPUSRAGENTHDR
      - MINTLSLEVEL
      - NQRNL
      - SOTUNING
      - NISTSP800131A

Problem conclusion

  • CPSM has been modified to update its copy of the SIT parameter
    list.
