PK07705: MSGDFHME0108 WAS ISSUED TO SAY MSGDFHWB0000, DFHWB0000, CANNOT BE FOUND IN MODULE DFHMET1E

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DFHWBA, UQ84092 +41C, issued a LINK for DFHWBBLI. DFHWBBLI in
  turn linked to user application. Application experenced error
  and RETURNed. DFHWBBLI returned to DFHWBA.
  .
  DFHWBA then issued EXEC CICS ASSIGN within ERROR_TO_CLIENT and
  branched into ME domain to issue error message. However,
  msgDFHME0108 was issued instead of a error/warning message with
  msgDFHWB0000 cannot be found in module DFHMET1E.

  DFHWBBLI prepared wbbl_response as 0204, 000000CC, 00CC, before
  returning to DFHWBA. DFHWBA continued to prepare for FUNCTION
  (INQUIRE_MESSAGE_LENGTH) however MESSAGE_NUMBER was 00000000,
  because wbbl_response was 0204. DFHWBA didn't pass exactly a
  message number for DFHMEME in routine error_to_client.

  This was why DFHME0108 was issued.

  A user written analyzer receives a non-http request and allows
  it to proceed. If the web alias transaction that runs does not
  supply a response then DFHWBA routine error_to_client takes an
  incorrect path.
  This results in MSGDFHME0108 being issued for DFHWB000 and a
  system dump is also produced.

Problem conclusion

• DFHWBA has been changed in routine error_to_client to only
  attempt to issue an error message to the log if it is an http
  request. For non-http no response is sent to the client.
